Greg did Awesome...For his first time!
So Greg and I decided to redo our hall bath a while ago. We originally were going to gut the entire bathroom and just start from scratch but luckily we got smart and saved ourselves some heartache, time and money.
A few weeks ago we went to the Home and Patio show at the Prime Osborne and found a company that updates outdated baths by spraying the tile or re-enameling the tile. It saves you from having to rip out perfectly good tile that just happens to be the wrong color. So Greg and I decided to make the decision and go for it. He had the company spray the bathroom and we said goodbye to the peach and black bathroom.
Now we seriously considered saving the original tile but part of the problem was that the original floor tile was not there. The previous owner had put down ugly 12x12 tile in a really tiny space that made it look even tinier. So Greg got in there ripped it out and discovered that the original tile was underneath the big tile but in poor condition so it sealed the deal, we had to redo the floor. Greg and I picked out a small, white hexagonal tile and he managed to do a fantastic job laying it down. You would never know that he had never done it before. Now I just need to get in there and paint the walls and he will install the new vanity and the new toilet. It is really coming together and becoming quite the showroom.
Several people expressed to us that we shouldn't change the bathroom from what it was and I seriously worried and doubted our decision. But after seeing the finished product I am so glad that we went ahead and did it. It looks great!
